Mr. Azam Khan


Mr. Azam Khan did his Masters in Public Administration from Institute of Management Studies (IMS), University of Peshawar, Pakistan. After doing his masters, he started his professional career in 1998 and joined Social Forestry Project Malakand/Dir as Manager Finance & Administration. Social Forestry Project MalakandDir was a project implemented by the Government of Pakistan in the field of Forestry. It was co-financed by the Government of Pakistan (25%) and the Netherlands Government (75%). Planting of trees, Forestry extension, village Development Schemes, Trainings & Gender and Development activities were carried out in Malakand and Dir districts by the Project. It started in 1987 and winded up its activities in June, 2000.  His main responsibilities include; Analysis of budget and expenses, preparing of financial reports, dealing with banks, dealing with both embassy and DHV consultants in Netherlands.

After serving Social Forestry Project for two years, he joined LASOONA: Society for Human & Natural Resource Development as Executive Director in July 2000. His responsibilities in LASOONA include overall management and administration of the Society and assisting the Society in achieving its mission. He has developed a number of project proposals for the Society which were consequently funded by different donor agencies like UNDP, ADB, SDC etc. Similarly, he has facilitated in developing good working relationship with Government line departments, donor agencies, Civil Society Organizations and community.  In 2004, he has got a fellowship of the Netherlands Government and did his post graduate diploma in ‘Managerial Control and Management Information System’. Besides, he has attended a number of trainings, workshops and seminars on various topics and subjects.  He is proficient in Urdu, English and Pashto.  He was born in 1973, and married in 2005.
