LASOONA in partnership with Oxfam- GB and co-financed by ECHO initiated a project in response to the Pakistan Flood of 2010 and was successfully completed in June 2011. The project responded to the flood in two phases; Emergency and Early Recovery. The emergency phase completed in December 2010 while the the early recovery phase completed in June 2011. The project was implemented in selected union councils of Distirct Swat and Shangla. The major achievements of the Early Recovery phase are given as follow; - Completed construction of 900 permanent laterine - Construction of 2 each 50,000 and 20,000 water tanks - Rehabilitation of 11 water supply schemes - Installation of 500 HDPE Water storage tanks - Establishment of Water Quality Laboratory - A number of Hygiene session conducted with the target community - Trainings of Tehsil Municipal Administration and Public Health Engineering Department staff. Through the above interventions, the project benefited about 20,000 households affected by the flood.
