The Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF) organized a two days (July 2-3)ToT workshop in collaboration with EurepGAP Germany in Lahore. EurepGAP is a private sector body that sets out voluntary standards for the certification of agriculture products around the globe. It has an equal partnership of agriculture producers and retailers that want to establish certification standards and procedures for Good Agriculture Practices (GAP). Mr. Saeed Iqbal- Project Manager LASOONA (Society for Human and Natural Resource Development) attended the Training of Trainer (ToT) workshop. The ToT Workshop will enable the organization to introduce and apply the modern techniques of EurepGAP among its Farmers’ Enterprise Groups (FEGs) and other farmers of District Swat and Dir.
The process of certification for crops like Persimmon and Walnut etc. from the region will enable the farmers to meet the international requirements and protocols for healthier and better production. For this purpose, Farmers Enterprise Groups formed by LASOONA under ASFP will be trained on the certification process to export their produce to Europe. [ Go Back | News Archive]
