LASOONA: Society for Human & Natural Resource Development always plays its role as part and parcel of environmental activities. Every year LASOONA organize plantation campaigns-one in spring and the other in Monsoon. On commencement of spring 2007, LASOONA conducted a spring plantation activity to contribute to the National Spring Plantation Campaign. With the participation of local communities, students of Swat Public School & College and Khazana Public School Khazana, LASOONA planted more than 1500plants on the communal hillsides of Shamozai Valley. 
The global temperature is expected to increase by 3-5% till 2050, which would result in glacier melting and flooding. A single mature tree fulfills the need of 32 children and 10 mature trees have the cooling effect equal to a one ton air conditioner. Moreover, tree shelter belts could minimize the noise pollution by 20 times. Keeping these statistics in view, growing trees is the easiest and cheapest way to contribute to the environmental improvement. So far LASOONA has planted about 500 acres in the said valley, along with other activities.
