LASOONA has publsihed the final report of its Agriculture Livelihoods Rehabilitaion Project (ALRP)implemented in earthquake affected District Shangla and Kohistan.

LASOONA signs a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of Pakistan Safe Drinking Water and Hygiene Promotion Project.

Monday September 10, 2007: A simple and colorful event was organized at a local hotel. Almost all the staff members and Directors Board of LASOONA participated in the ceremony. The program was organized to distribute Shields and Appreciation Certificates among the staff for their outstanding performance during the year 2006. The purpose was to recognize the services of those who performed well in their respective fields.

July 30-31, 2007 at Timargara Dir, a two days training was organized by LASOONA on Post Harvest Handling of Horticultural Crops. Agribusiness Support Fund Project (ASFP) conducted the training, under the Capacity Building of the Project.

On July 10th contracts of approved projects were signed between Agribusiness Support Fund Lahore and four Farmers’ Enterprise Groups (FEGs) at LASOONA Field Office Matta. The groups were established by LASOONA in villages of Arkot, Chuprial, Chaman Lalai and Durashkeela. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Shad Muhammad- Advisor and Sayed Ahmad Shah- Chief Grants Monitoring of Agribusiness Support Fund- Lahore.

The Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF) organized a two days (July 2-3)ToT workshop in collaboration with EurepGAP Germany in Lahore. EurepGAP is a private sector body that sets out voluntary standards for the certification of agriculture products around the globe. It has an equal partnership of agriculture producers and retailers that want to establish certification standards and procedures for Good Agriculture Practices (GAP).

LASOONA started 'Seven Days Activists Training' for the Village Organizations formed under the Barani Area Development Project- District Kohistan.

LASOONA: Society for Human & Natural Resource Development is working in Lalku Vally of District Swat for the Livelihood Improvemnet of poor communities. One of the main interventions of this project is to develop a chapter concerning Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP's) and further include it in the Village/Management Plan of Village Bar Lalku.

LASOONA: Society for Human & Natural Resource Development always plays its role as part and parcel of environmental activities. Every year LASOONA organize plantation campaigns-one in spring and the other in Monsoon. On commencement of spring 2007, LASOONA conducted a spring plantation activity to contribute to the National Spring Plantation Campaign. With the participation of local communities, students of Swat Public School & College and Khazana Public School Khazana, LASOONA planted more than 1500plants on the communal hillsides of Shamozai Valley.

In response to the October 8th, 2005 earthquake LASOONA-Society for Human and Natural Resource Development has recently launched a project “Rehabilitation of means for agricultural subsistence and disaster preparedness” in partnership with Deutsche Welthungerhilf/German Agro Action (DWHH/GAA). The project aims to reduce the vulnerability of the affected target groups to possible future natural disasters by the restoration of the means for agricultural subsistence and risk-minimisation.

EU UNDP Small Grants Program for the Promotion of Tropical Forests in Pakistan (SGP-PTF) organized two days (February 7-8, 2007) workshop on Knowledge Management and Networking at Islamabad.

On 16th of January 2007, LASOONA –Agribusiness Support Fund Project (ASFP) team held an introductory session with elected representatives of Distt Swat at District Assembly Hall Saidu Sharif.
